Stow Station House was built in 1848 by the North British Railway. The station closed in 1969, and the station house buildings were converted into two dwellings. Although the railway station reopened in 2015, it had first been proposed to demolish the station building as it was not required for the reopened station. However, the building was saved and after an award-winning conversion and refurbishment project, it has been re-born as a bar/kitchen with multi-purpose function room, with separate Cycle Hub.
In May 2022 we launched our tenant recruitment process. We are on the look out for an ambitious and experienced hospitality professional who is seeking an amazing opportunity to run a thriving dry-led hospitality business in the Scottish Borders!
Not only have we completed an award-winning refurbished and extended building in a great location, but thanks to generous funding The Station House has been fully decorated, furnished and equipped. We’ve bought furniture, glassware and flatware, and fitted an amazing commercial kitchen with top-notch equipment. We’ve tested the new systems and installations – the building is ready for our tenant to run a great new business. Many of the prospective customers have already enjoyed pop-up catering events, held meetings and parties, or used the space for community events – and we’ve had incredibly positive feedback.
