Our Story
We are a community-led project that will be based at the new Station House in Stow. We aim to help Stow to reduce its carbon footprint by promoting cycling for everyday travel activities and leisure and encourage everyone to experience the joys of cycling as well as Stow’s stunning local scenery.
A big thank you to all our funders and supporters
Our project aims
We aim to offer eBike loans of up to 4 weeks to people in our community who would otherwise feel daunted by the prospect of facing the hills that surround Stow. We will also offer short trials and day hire.
The project will also enable people to test out how they can reduce their carbon footprint by choosing cycling as a viable alternative to driving for journeys of up to 15 miles. This will benefit the community as whole by reducing carbon emissions and traffic in and around Stow.
This will give people a chance to stay active and enjoy the health and wellbeing benefits of regular cycling as they explore our lovely borders countryside.
Ebikes offer the chance to connect Stow with its neighbouring villages, encouraging a vibrant wider community and supporting a local economy where daily journeys are made by bike.
Going forward, we hope to make Stow an attractive destination for cyclists by offering a full range of community activities and support at our cycle hub. We will provide bike rentals, technical support, skills development, volunteering opportunities and detailed cycle routes that cater to road cyclists, ebikers, and trail cyclists.
When we open our premises in the Stow Station House, this will further encourage people travelling to and from the Station to cycle rather than drive.
Ditch the car
Be part of the movement to make our community pedal-powered and improve the accessibility of neighbouring communities.
Stay Active
By loaning e-bikes and offering technical support, we’re making it easier for you to choose a mode of transport that helps you to experience the health and wellbeing benefits of cycling.
Connect Communities
Bringing people together to explore our countryside and connect Stow with its neighbouring villages.
