Stow & Fountainhall launched their Community Action Plan (CAP) on Thursday 26 October 2023 amid great excitement for past successes delivered, and those yet to be delivered, across the Parish of Stow.
A full copy of the CAP can be found here.
A printed display of the CAP will also be available around the local area over the next few weeks. Check the map below to see it’s current location.
Thanks to the support of Community Land Scotland, the Parish of Stow Community Council and Julie Nock of the Southern Uplands Partnership, Stow Community Trust used the event to showcase the work of local groups who take part in activities across the area including the developments, e.g. Stow Pump track, Stow Cycle Hub and the Station House.
The dynamic event also showcased some thoughts and ideas about the potential use of the Royal Hotel site in Stow. This included young folk in the village expressing their ideas using the Minecraft game and less technologically-minded residents noting their preferences using paper and pen!
Using the National Place Standards, the CAP details the thoughts and ideas of local folk who kindly gave their time to share their views. These built on the great work of many groups over the years to improve and develop their community. Working with local groups and a variety of local and national agencies, the CAP will provide a focus for prioritising funding and activities across the Parish over the coming years.
Our CAP is just the start of the conversation and we’ll be setting up the opportunity for you to find out more about some of our key projects – watch this space or join us as a member or association member.
