Network Rail Community Award Unveiling

On Thursday 10 March we hosted an event at the Station House with a number of guests from all across Scotland and the UK.

The purpose of the event was to formally unveil our plaque for the Network Rail Community Award which we won at the National Railway Heritage Awards.

The formal part of the event included speeches from Helen Corcoran – past Chair of the SCT; Andy Savage of the Railway Heritage Trust; Jo Noble of Network Rail (who unveiled the plaque); and Cllr Sandy Aitchison who recounted fond memories of the railway before its closure in 1969, and its reopening in 2015.
