Why not start Bike Week 2021 with a Cycle Along to the Gala Water Garden Trail Day?
The trail will take you to some fun and interesting stalls in gardens in Stow, Fountainhall and Heriot on Sunday 30th May between 10am and 3pm.
The stalls will have lots of things on offer including arts and crafts, baking, bric-a-brac, plants and all sorts of different things from gardens; at the same time helping to raise funds for the bid to build a pump track in Stow and for other charities.
Joanne McBeath, Stow Pump Track organiser said, “This is the perfect day to hold our fundraiser for the Stow Pump Track at the start of Bike Week 2021 and we’re delighted that the Stow Cycle Hub will also have a stall on the day show casing their E-bike hire scheme. They’ll also have E-bikes available for hiring for an hour to get you round the trail. You could even arrive by train and bring your own bike!
“With the two lockdowns we have just had there has been a lot of house clearing going on and with no car boot sales at the moment this is a great opportunity for people to sell their unwanted things. We’ve got individuals, local businesses and charity groups all taking part in the Market Trail. It will be a great way to explore the villages and find yourself a bargain at the same time! The Gala Water villages of Stow, Fountainhall and Heriot have many artists and creative people, great bakers and green fingered gardeners who are also going to be taking part in the Garden Market Trail.”
You’ll be able to spot the market stalls as they will have bunting or flags outside their houses to show who Is taking part. So, come and explore the historic parish of Stow and pick up a bargain. There will be maps available of stalls addresses at the E-bike stand in the Stow play park to help your plan your trail.
